Building Integrated PV (Building Integrated Photovoltaics, BIPV) refers to mounting photovoltaic modules on the surface of the building external structure, at the same time function as a part of building structure to replace the part of traditional architectural structures, such as roof panels, tile, windows, building facade and rain shelter. It can also be made into photovoltaic multifunctional building components to achieve greater functions, such as photovoltaic solar thermal systems, combined with the lighting, architectural solar shading.
